Who I Am
Hi, I’m Farhoon Asim—a UK-based career coach, TEDx speaker, and the founder of The UK Job Institute.
My mission is simple: to help international students and graduates land UK-sponsored jobs without the confusion, wasted time, and endless rejection that so many of us face.
I know this challenge first-hand. When I arrived in the UK at 19 from Karachi, I was lost, shy, and unprepared for the brutal reality of the job market. I didn’t have family connections or inside knowledge. I made every mistake in the book—sending hundreds of applications, getting ghosted, feeling like giving up.
It took me over 500 rejections to land my first sponsored role. But those rejections taught me the real rules of the game.
My Journey
- KPMG UK (2019–2020): I started my professional career as an Audit Graduate at KPMG, one of the Big Four firms. I earned a visa-sponsored role after cracking their competitive recruitment process—a system few international students truly understand without help.
- Raindrop FinTech (2021–2022): As the Growth Lead and third hire, I helped scale revenue from £6 million to £20 million in 15 months. I learned how high-velocity startups work, and how to leverage digital marketing and growth strategy.
- Antler Cohort 7 (2022): I won a spot in Antler’s competitive venture builder, validating my mission to solve what I call the “international student problem” in the UK job market.
- International Heroes & Hustlers: I tested, refined, and scaled my coaching approach—helping over 150 students land Tier 2-sponsored roles while building a 7-figure revenue community.
Why I Do This
Most career advice for international students is generic, outdated, and disconnected from the realities of sponsorship and UK hiring culture.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions.
Instead, I focus on:

I’ve made it my life’s work to replace confusion with strategy, and hopelessness with clear next steps.

Being an international student is often framed as a disadvantage. I see it as an edge.
You’re adaptable, resilient, and willing to do what it takes to succeed in a new country. My goal is to show you how to turn those qualities into a competitive advantage in the UK job market.
The UK Job Institute
In January 2025, I launched The UK Job Institute, an affordable, structured training ecosystem built by international students for international students.
We aim to place 1,000+ graduates into UK-sponsored roles by 2026 through:
- 1:1 and group coaching
- AI-powered CV and cover letter help
- Mock interviews with real feedback
- Weekly community Q&As
- Tier 2 sponsorship strategy sessions
This isn’t fluff or theory. It’s the playbook I wish I had when I was struggling.
